A writer shouldn’t be happy. It’s counter-productive.

A year ago, I was in the hospital. I spent most of the day in my room writing. There were no classes because of the holiday.

There were cupcakes at the nurse’s station, with red, white, and blue frosting. I ate two, with blue frosting. My tongue and lips were blue for hours.
