I had the same problem and in my late 40s, I started to use the estrogen cream. Then I had a period. So I went to the doctor and I had an ultrasound and I had uterine polyps. I had to have a D&C and I could not use the estrogen cream. Many years later, in my late 50s, I had a young lover and painful intercourse. Unacceptable. He was a lot of fun. So I used the estrogen cream again for about three months and then I had a period. Same thing. I had another D&C. There is no medical solution for my issue. I have to have a good 20 minutes of foreplay and sometimes I time it because I get kind of excited and I get in there too soon and it’s not good. So lots of foreplay and lots of lubricant. I still have fun and I still have orgasms. But my vagina is not a happy girl these days. She needs a lot of coaxing and teasing. Which I suppose is not a bad thing. I’m really glad things worked out for you. I am probably a medical anomaly. I certainly hope so. I think most women have no issues with the estrogen cream.
