Interesting take. I find your assertion that ageism tends to come from the left questionable. At 60, I jokingly refer to myself as "the old lady" to my friends, who are primarily younger, some much younger. I've never been called a boomer, or any other ageist put down by anyone. I've never felt marginalized because of my age, although I am no longer in the business world. If I were, it might be different. I'm very left leaning, and this piece prompted me to look up demographics of the major parties. In 2022, 64% of Democrats and 70% of Republicans were over 50 (Pew Research published July 2023). That's relatively even. I hang out with liberals exclusively, I find it difficult to stomach the conservatives. I guess I just don't see ageism as coming from the left. And maybe that's because I surround myself with loving, accepting people - which liberals tend to be. Now there's an assertion that might prove questionable ;)
