Many of my friends have had abortions. Most of them accepted they made the best decision they could based on the information and where they were at in their lives at the time. Two of my friends have not been able to forgive themselves, and every major decision they've made since their abortion was tainted by their guilt over the abortion. This included marrying men who weren't right for them. One isn't in love with her husband and is just trudging through life to get to the end without the "sin" of divorce, the other is married to an abuser, but because it is a "Christian marriage", she refuses to leave. I ended relationship with both these women over Trump. They both view every election as a one-issue election: abortion. Regardless of any other political position, regardless of their moral character (or lack thereof) whichever candidate says he will outlaw abortion is who they vote for. We do not have one issue elections in this country - we never have. It is a luxury to assume so. All that being said, you present a compelling argument against treating elections as one-issue elections. Many of us, like you, spend a great deal of time researching, organizing, and clearly presenting our arguments, but sadly, the people who need to receive this information don't read our work. I'm incredibly disheartened. That won't stop me from doing what you've done, though, continue to research, organize and clearly present compelling arguments against what is patently immoral - to put personal conviction over the common good, and even worse, to attempt to legislate "Christian morality" as the law of the land. Keep up the good work, fight the good fight, run the good race. There is great satisfaction in knowing, without a doubt, I am coming down on the right side of history on these issues. I'm with you.
