Dear H.,

I think of you so often. I can’t tell you how many times I think of you and the times we had together. You are one of my best friends. I love you so much. And that will never change, no matter our ideological differences. Hear that. I love you so much, regardless of our ideological differences. Please hear that.

But every time I think of reaching out to you, I think about how you continue to support Donald Trump. I have nothing in common morally with anyone who supports Donald Trump. He is a vile human being who will destroy democracy if he is elected. If he doesn’t win, there will be civil war. If he does win, he will reign as a dictator until he dies. If he attains power, this country will no longer be a democracy.

I know you vote on abortion, and only on abortion. That is the only issue you care about. But this is not a one issue election. No election is a one issue election. I wish you could see that. But I don’t think you can.

If I am wrong, tell me! If you no longer support Donald Trump, tell me! If you no longer support Donald Trump, I can take up relationship with you. You have to know how much I love you, how I desperately long for reconciliation. But if you continue to support Donald Trump, I cannot be in relationship with you. The moral discrepancy is simply too great. I cannot overlook or come to terms with anyone who would support Donald Trump. He is an Antichrist.

I desperately hope you are on the right side of history in opposing Donald Trump. But if that is not the case, I cannot resume our friendship, although I would love nothing more.

None of this has any bearing on the fact that I love you very much. You must know that. I love you very much. Very much.

So much love,

Coco
