Yep. I agree. I will say, however, that mainline Protestantism has always been in line with progressive Christian beliefs and action. Those aren’t recent fringe groups. For instance the Episcopalians and the Unitarians have always sought to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. There’s nothing new about decency and goodness.
